Protokoll från stackens höstmöte den 28 november 2019
Hereby you, as member of The Computer Club Stacken, are called to the autumn meeting at Thursday November the 28:th at 19:30 in a room near the Stacken club room.
Please pay your membership fee if it is not already paid (or if you are an honorary member). If you pay it on time (the money arrives before the autumn meeting) you have the right to vote at the meeting; supporting members do not have voting rights. The fee for THS student members is waived, for others it is 119 Swedish crowns.

Stacken lecture thursday

Do you want to sense or control something? An overview of three easy and inexpensive roads to getting started with embedded systems; hardware and software.
We have finally scheduled this fall's introductory lectures in programming. The lectures will be held in room Q24 on the KTH main campus, starting on wednesday next week. The full schedule is as follows:

The programming lectures will be aimed towards thos who have never coded before, or who have played around with python or Java but never written any larger programs.
Stacken will be at the Student Union Day the 21th August 2019. We will be there from 10 to 16. This is an excellent time to say hi, talk with us if there is something you like to know.
På torsdag 9 maj klockan 19:30, i en sal nära Stackenlokalen i Q-huset plan 2, kommer Andreas Edvardsson och Björn Pehrson att hålla en Stackenföreläsning om AMPRNet.
Grunden för AMPRNet är IPv4-adressrymden 44.0.0.0/8, ett A-nät som tilldelades världens radioamatörer i Internets barndom. Sverige har fått B-nätet 44.140.0.0/16 att förvalta och har sedan 2012 en överenskommese med Sunet om Internettransit med målet att på frivilligbasis göra amatörrörelsens utrustning och kompetens tillgänglig för organisationer med beredskapsansvar när kommersiella alternativ sviktar eller saknas.
Föredraget kommer att kort beskriva den pågående utbyggnaden av nätet, med tonvikt på redundans och robusthet, och fokusera på IT-tjänster och säkerhetsfrågor för olika beredskapsscenarier, exempelvis informationsbunkring, stöd för frånkopplad drift och samarbete mellan olika beredskapsorganisationer, mm.
Thursday may 2, at 19:30 in a room close to the Stacken clubroom in the Q building, Alexander Hjelm will host a Stacken lecture about the Godot game engine.
Godot is the first fully integrated game development studio that is completely free and open source. With Godot, you can make games in C++/C# or the python-like GDScript language, and export them to PC, mobile and web platforms. Unlike Unity and Unreal Engine, there are no strings attached: no royalties, nothing. Your game is yours, down to the last line of engine code.
During the lecture, we will create a game from scratch using the free game engine Godot. The audience will decide what kind of game they would like to see, and there will be time to follow along on your own PC and ask questions. Afterwards we will have a QA-session where any questions are welcome, either about Godot or game development in general.
På torsdag 4:e april klockan 19:30, i en sal nära Stackenlokalen i Q-huset, kommer Stellan Lagerström att hålla en Stackenföreläsning om LoRa och LoRaWAN.
LoRa är ett sätt att skicka datapaket långt (fast långsamt) på licensfria radiofrekvenser. LoRaWAN är nätverkslagret ovanpå det.
Stellan kommer att berätta om den underliggande tekniken, tillämpningar som Internet of Things och sina erfarenheter av en implementation, TheThingsNetwork. Han kommer också att ha lite hårdvara med sig att titta på.
På torsdag 14 mars klockan 19:30, i en sal nära Stackenlokalen i Q-huset, kommer Rasmus Kaj att hålla en Stackenföreläsning om programspråket Rust.
Rust är ett programspråk med målsättningen att fler programmerare ska kunna skapa effektivare program med färre buggar.
Den här stackenföreläsningen ger först en mycket kortfattad beskrivning av Rust, dess filosofi och huvudsakliga skillnader och likheter med andra vanliga språk, och därpå skriver vi en enkel men effektiv databasbaserad webbtjänst från scratch.
Har du tidigare programmerat i till exempel java, go, c, c++, javascript eller python kommer du att kunna hänga med.
