FTP broken

Any body experienced problems with ftp? Not only doesn't it work,
but (for me) it reports the wrong version number (normally
this would indicate an installation error, but everything looks
OK to me).

I have heimdal 0.1l installed.

This breaks on OSF/1 (client) using Linux (server) or
Linux (client and server)

I don't exactly trust this version of gdb on this computer, but the
stack trace seems valid, and I think it matches up with the results
from Linux:
