For what its worth, I use pam_krb5 with wdm without trouble, and I've
tested it successfully with xdm as well.  This is on FreeBSD using the
FreeBSD port (from which the earlier poster seemed to indicate that he
borrowed most of the patches).

Could you try plain xdm and see if it, too, is b0rked?
