kinit works

   i have been able to finally get kinit working.
   i needs root priviliges start the kdc
   there are some things i want to bring to the notice of authors and users of heimdal though.
1.inspite to specifying at the configuration stage the option --prefix=local dir and --exec-prefic=local dir the heimdal uses and expects realm configuration for 
/etc/krb5.conf and not local/etc/krb5.conf
2.to create log file the entry in krb5.conf should be 
[logging]

        kdc=FILE:/path/kdc.log
        admin_server=FILE:/path/admin.log
        default=FILE:/path/default.log  
3.u need root priviledges to start kdc without which the kdc starts and exists without any notice
