Using hprop from kaserver on local machine...

Ok, I have a situation where I am trying to use hprop from the same machine that
I want to migrate to Heimdal, and neither the kaserver or the kdc wants to give
up its privileged ports so I can populate the Krb5 database.
I'm certain there was a good document detailing the configuration of Heimdal in
place of / migration from kaserver but I can't seem to locate it right now.
So, what do I do now?
