Problems with getipnodebyname

Hello everyone,
I am having some problems building heimdal-0.5.2.  This is on RedHat 8 with
gcc 3.2.  Has anyone seen something like this and could point me in the
right direction?  I ran numerous searches for any similar problems and found
nothing helpful.
