Spew in $prefix/bin and $prefix/lib, actually. Which if you're
packaging for the OS, --prefix=/usr, if not, --prefix=/usr/local.
Makes sense to me. I'm totally with you on not hitting /usr/bin and /
usr/lib by default though. Do not want.
